Quebec Trip

Brian and I spent the last two weeks visiting Brian's relatives. We drove to Quebec with his dad, stayed a few days, took the bus to Ottawa, stayed a few days, then back to Quebec for a few more days. Brian's grandmother is 95 and lives alone near Sherbrooke. His mother and brother live in Ottawa. We had a great visit with everyone.

Here's Brian next to his grandmother's lake, where he spent many of his childhood summers.

Here's the Tonka Truck Brian played with as a child.

We bought a new game called Settlers of Catan. We're having a great time playing it, teaching it to many people as we need at least 3 people to play. This is Brian's brother and sister-in-law.

Brian's grandmother, his dad, his brother, and him. Brian's grandmother is posing with a can of beer and acting drunk - everyone else is laughing at her. His grandmother is 95 years old and as sharp as a tack.

The weather warmed enough to melt a lot of the ice in the lake. We took the canoe out, but it was very windy, so we couldn't go very far.

I can't remember: have we ever played Settlers together? That is one of my favourite games, but I have the same problem of finding enough people who know how to play. Count me in for this summer!
