Report on our friends

We had a great day today visiting our friends in the hospital. Jay is still in ICU, but we were able to see him for a few minutes. His eyes are open and he's talking now. It takes some effort to talk, but he was making sense for the most part. He was joking around a lot when Brian was in there - Brian was pleased to see that. He often has to be reminded of things though, that his arm is badly broken... where he is... that the Korean nurse is not his friend Sarah (like he keeps calling - yelling at her)... that he doesn't have a soccer game tomorrow, and that he's not in Halifax hospital... His bruises and cuts are pretty much gone. It was so nice to see him improved - compared to his state last weekend. I can't wait to see what improvements there'll be next weekend.
Tessa has moved to another hospital - a nice place where she has her own room. She would rather be at home, but the insurance requires her to stay in hospital for at least 3 weeks. That's some good news- the SUV driver's insurance is paying for all their medical expenses...at his request, apparently. That's something to be very thankful for. She even gets paid a portion of her salary that she's missing out on. We saw lots of improvements in Tessa as well. She can lift her legs, bend her knees, even turn on her side. She expects to try out a walker next weekend when she leaves the hospital. She's quite optimistic. Also, she's heard it'll probabaly be a shorter recovery period than initially thought. It's nice to see she's in good spirits.
