Internationalness

I'll miss the internationalness of ships when I leave ships. I like walking down the hallway and seeing 10 people from different countries. Thursday night I got out of work an hour early and I went out to eat with some of my friends from the ship. There were 4 of us, from 4 different countries: a refrigeration engineer from Sweeden, a conceirge from Peru, a second engineer from Croatia, and a YC from Canada. I think I'm spending a lot more time with other departments and nationalities than last year (when I mainly spent time with YC's). The meal struck me as an unusual event. I enjoyed it immensely.
