Disconserting
I was downtown shopping on Friday, had just finished, and was heading for a taxi. Heard a strange siren. My first thought was that it was an air raid siren, but thought it couldn't be. It was. A drill, of course. Traffic was stopped for 15 minutes... I had just gotten into a cab (luckily he gave me a discount, since the meter was running the whole time). My driver couldn't explain to me what was going on. The general public didn't seem to be panicing, so I knew it was just a drill. Brian texted me confirming the air raid drill.
Apparently, if Seoul is ever attacked by North Korea, there are enough missiles pointed at it to level it in 20 minutes. My city is the back up government hideout, and will likely be targeted soon after. Hmmmm... that wasn't in the tourist brochure...
