Fraser Island 4x4

Our first destination in Australia was Fraser Island (about half way up the east coast). This island is all sand... with a rain forest and beautiful lakes in the center of it. Only 4x4s are allowed on the island, anything less wouldn't make it very far. We hired this truck, loaded it up with rented camping gear and the luggage of 5 of us. Here we are stuck soon after we got to the island, as we neglected to reduce our tire pressure like recommended.

When the tide is out, the beach is the highway on the island. Here we are showing off for the camera.
